recipe: chamomile honey latte

Lattes are always a special treat, and lately we’ve been getting excited by experimenting at home with different variations of the popular drink. In the test kitchen today, we’ve whipped up an incredible honey chamomile latte that can be easily made at home.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 cup of milk ( we went for whole milk, but you can totally substitute in any milk of your choice )

  • 3 tablespoons OneTea organic chamomile

  • 1 tablespoon ghee ( we prefer Ancient Organics ghee. No real reason why, it’s just our go-to ghee. )

  • 1 tablespoon honey ( we used this incredible lavender infused honey we found on a recent trip to Ojai, California. Heavenly Honey combines local sage honey and organic lavender from the Ojai Lavender Farm in Upper Ojai to make this great earthly gift! )

  • pinch of pink salt

How you’ll make it:

  • Pour the milk into a saucepan, and bring it to a light bubble. You don’t want it to start boiling, it will burn off the milk. Once you see little bubbles starting, turn off the heat.

  • Add in the chamomile and let them steep for 5-10 minutes. We used a mesh strainer to strain out the buds after steeping, and lightly pressed down on the strainer to release as many oils as possible for maximum flavor.

  • Take your infused milk, and combine with the honey and ghee in a high-powered blender. We blended it for about a minute in a nutribullet, until it was foamy and frothy. We also tested it out by just whisking the ingredients together in the pot, which worked pretty well too!

  • Pour your lovely warm drink into a cup, drizzle a touch more chamomile on top if you’re looking to get fancy. And enjoy!
