hojicha roasted green tea

Origin: Kyoto, Japan / Harvest: Spring 2017

Why We Love It: Produced by one of Kyoto’s most honored tea makers, the 4th generation team at Ryuouen, this deep roasted classic style of Japanese green tea is a must experience. With extremely minimal traces of caffeine, this is an evening go-to. Made of large leaf, late harvest Uji bancha, the fragrance of this roasted tea is unmistakable.

We Taste: Kettle corn, chestnuts, and roasted barley

How We Brew It: Steep 5 grams in 6 ounces of 195F water for 1 minute. Re-steep and lessen brew time for 2-3 steeps.
