black honey tea

Origin: Pinglin, Taiwan / Harvest: Summer 2018 / Elevation: 2,600 feet

Why We Love It: This is easily one of the most expertly crafted "bug-bitten teas" that we have ever come across. This style of black tea (called Mixiang Hongcha in Taiwanese) has become quite famous for its flavorful honey notes and soothing mouthfeel. Grown and harvested by an incredible third generation tea farmer, Mr. Chang, in the prestigious region of Pinglin.

We Taste: Honey, cinnamon, and malt

How We Brew It: Steep 4 grams in 8-12 ounces of 200F water for 3-4 minutes. Can re-steep 2-3 times. Or gong fu brew.
