charcoal roasted yushan oolong teaOneTea.co
Origin: Yushan, Taiwan / Harvest: Winter 2018 / Elevation: High Mountain 5,200ft
Why We Love It: After the initial processing, our farm partner passes this tea onto his expert charcoal roasting neighbor. The roasting process takes three days, with minimal opportunities for sleep, and is quite tedious and takes much skill. The process mutes some of the sharper notes of high mountain oolongs from this region, and replaces them with a really satisfying underlying texture that makes for a complex and full tea experience.
Tastes Like: roasted nuts, sweetness, floral
How We Brew It: Steep 4 grams in 8 ounces of 195F water for 4-5 minutes. Can re-steep 2-3 times. We recommend using 7 grams in a gaiwan.
