da hong pao oolong tea

Origin: WuYi National Scenic Area, Fujian Province, China / Harvest: Summer 2015

Why We Love It: When it comes to Chinese teas, origin holds a lot of value to authenticity. This Da Hong Pao tea (aka Big Red Robe) is grown and produced in the WuYi National Scenic Area - the top notch region for this style of tea. It's classic in it's flavor profile, and rich aroma. This tea is crushed leaf, not full leaf. The tea master has sorted and processed the crushed leaves, and the flavor is bold and full because of the leaf shape. It also allows the price to be an affordable option for everyday drinking.

We Taste: Toasty, dried fruits, and charcoal

How We Brew It: Steep 4 grams in 8-12 ounces of 200F water for 3-4 minutes. Can re-steep 2-3 times. Or gong fu brew.
