ceremonial matcha

Type: Green (powder form) / Origin: Shizuoka, Japan

Tastes Like: Fresh grass, nuts, umami, sweet

Why We Love It: Our naturally produced ceremonial matcha is made from single-estate tencha leaves that are shaded using a unique sustainable method. The tea is shaded using solar-powered panels, which help offset the power needed to run the production facility. Once the leaves are harvested, they are ground up into an ultra-fine powder using a traditional stone mill. This ancient method provides a creamy texture that really amplifies the rich, grassy flavor.

Size: 20 grams / Brew Guide: Place about 2 grams (~1 tbsp) of matcha into a bowl. Using around 175 degree water, pour 3-4 ounces (about 1/3 of the bowl) of water and whisk until frothy.

Latte: Make matcha in a tea bowl ^^ and add warm frothed milk to a mug. Pour the matcha on top. You can use cold milk for a cold latte.

Quickie Bottle Brew: Sometimes we like to take a cold water bottle, drop a scoop of matcha into the top, and shake, shake, shake! Once the liquid is green, and the powder is dissolved, you’re ready to enjoy.
