darjeeling black tea

Origin: Yanki Tea, Mirik Valley, Darjeeling, India / Harvest: Second Flush 2016 / Elevation: 5,000 - 7,500 feet

Why We Love It: The muscatel grape notes and pure taste of the Darjeeling region is our first reason to love this tea. Then we fall even deeper in love when its origin story is shared. Farmed by members of a local small grower society, led by Yankhu Tamang, this tea was grown small batch with a progressive mission. Large estates dominate the industry in India, emphasizing quantity over quality, often at the cost of workers' welfare. By supporting small growers, we can help make better tea and better ethics a reality in the region. All while drinking higher quality, better crafted tea!

Tastes Like: Fruits, muscatel grape, dry

How We Brew It: Steep 4 grams in 8-16 ounces of 195º F water for 3-4 minutes. Can re-steep 2-3 times.
